Malcolm double downs Forfar
Craig Malcolm bagged a brace as 10-man Stranraer moved level with second-bottom East Fife by comfortably defeating Forfar 4-1.
Malcolm kickstarted proceedings with a goal after four minutes but despite a missed penalty from Forfar's Iain Campbell, the visitors equalised through Danny Denholm midway through the half.
However, Christopher Aitken put his side ahead five minutes before half-time before Malcolm and Frank McKeown added further goals to give Stranraer a vital second home win, despite Aitken's sending off late on.
After Malcolm had given Stranraer the lead from close range, home goalkeeper David Mitchell managed to save Campbell's penalty following Michael Dunlop's foul on Omar Kader in the box.
Denholm headed in the leveller from Kevin Motion's cross but it mattered little as Aitken cropped up in the box to put Stranraer ahead before the break.
Forfar, to their credit, pressed continually with shots in the second half, but Malcolm's persistence paid dividends with a goal from 12 yards on 73 minutes before McKeown wrapped up the win with a drilled shot deep into injury time.
