Day to remember for Craig Thomson as Stranraer beat Albion
Craig Thomson scored his first career goals to help Stranraer to a 3-2 victory over Albion in Ladbrokes League One.
The on-loan St Johnstone midfielder found the bottom left corner following a strong run into the box to open the scoring with 17 minutes played at Stair Park before striking home a low shot from the centre of the penalty area on the stroke of half-time.
Blues striker Mark McGuigan turned and fired into the bottom left corner from the edge of the area after collecting Giuliano Morena's pass to extend the lead 11 minutes after the restart before the away side reduced the deficit when striker Ross Stewart found the bottom right corner on the hour mark.
Rovers midfielder Paul Willis converted from the penalty spot to pull another goal back in the 90th minute following Thomson's foul on Stewart but the away side were unable to snatch a leveller in the final moments.
