Malcolm at the double for Stranraer
Craig Malcolm scored twice in four first-half minutes for Stranraer as they beat Ayr 2-0.
After a scrappy start to the game, Malcolm gave the home side the lead after 34 minutes when he slotted past Darren Martin in the Ayr goal.
Just four minutes later he added a second from the edge of the area to put Stranraer in command going into the break.
The Blues defended well in the second period, making it very difficult for the frustrated visitors to break them down.
Ayr's Adam Hunter received a second yellow card in the 90th minute for a bad foul on Maxwell Wright.
The Honest Men now sit firmly at the bottom of the table.
