Stranraer stun Fifers

Craig Malcolm grabbed the only goal as Stranraer ended a run of six straight away defeats in Scottish Division Two by beating East Fife 1-0.

The home side, on a three-game winning streak in the league, dominated the opening half an hour with Scott McBride and Liam Gormley being thwarted by Stranraer keeper David Mitchell inside seven minutes before Collin Samuel lashed a shot from 25 yards against a post after 25 minutes.

East Fife were then left stunned as Stranraer moved in front in the 34th minute with Malcolm producing a close-range lob from Robert Love's cross - his eighth goal of the season and third in four games.

Mitchell denied Robert Barr from 18 yards on the hour and Samuel nodded another effort over the bar from close in as East Fife hunted an equaliser.

Mitchell continued to frustrate the Fifers with another stop from Jordon Forster before their night was summed up when they hit a post for a second time through Jamie Pollock.
