Aitken to freshen up Stranraer
Stranraer boss Stephen Aitken will make changes to his side for the visit of Forfar after their industrious efforts against Rangers on Boxing Day.
The Stair Park side ended Ally McCoist's hopes of a perfect league campaign with a last-gasp equaliser at Ibrox, but manager Aitken revealed that his men will need closely monitoring.
"The players were high after ending Rangers' run of wins however they are now feeling the effects of it," said Aitken. "They were terrific but it is a tough ask for a part-time side to come out and play 48 hours after facing a full-time one."
Stranraer are definitely without Chris Aitken (ankle) and Marc Corcoran (hip) as they look to strengthen their place in the play-off places.
Forfar are missing Gavin Swankie (hamstring) while Odmar Faero is absent due to family commitments.
Manager Dick Campbell, who hopes to have Mark Baxter available after a knock, reckons his side do not have any advantage despite their opponents' exploits at Ibrox.
"Stranraer are flying just now and they will not be feeling any bumps and bruises after being the first side to take anything from Rangers in the league," he said.
"Their manager has done a terrific job but we are looking for the win that will be the perfect response after losing to Ayr last Saturday."
