Stranraer striker Michael Moore misses out against one of his former clubs when derby rivals Ayr visit Stair Park.
Defender David MacGregor continues to be absent for the Blues with manager Keith Knox looking for his men to build on a solid display against Stenhousemuir last weekend.
"We went about our business well against Stenhousemuir and battled back well for a draw. We will take heart from that as they are one of the form teams this season," said Knox.
"This is maybe not the biggest derby game in Scotland but it does have an element of spice in it for the fans and hopefully that will inspire us to get that win."
Ayr are without injured trio Martyn Campbell, John Robertson and Ryan McStay.
Michael McGowan is also struggling for a side that have yet to sparkle in the Second Division this season and went out of the Scottish Communities League Cup 5-1 to St Mirren in midweek.
Manager Mark Roberts said: "This is a massive game for us as we have not had the best of starts this season.
"Our first half at St Mirren was disappointing but to be fair to the players they fought well in the second half despite being four goals down.
"Stranraer are above us in the table just now and I want to be above them come the final whistle."
